TOP 5 NFL OFFENSIVE FREE AGENTS

http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/news/jimmy-graham-nfl-free-agency-seahawks-saints-interested-stats/5f9de9pfqbpy1i9uq89dluqz1
The franchise tag deadline has passed, making this much easier to do. Now, who knows what is going to happen during free agency. Honestly it is going to be an interesting off season and many teams will have different faces going into this year. Case Keenum did not get tagged, Leveon Bell did and Drew Brees still isn't signed. There is no way in hell that Brees leaves but like I said you never know. So here we are, my top 5 NFL offensive free agents.

5. TE Jimmy Graham

Jimmy! Man do I love this guy. Jimmy, you've saved me so many times in fantasy football. Love ya. Graham is old, but he can still put on a show. This past season he caught 10 touchdowns and was an absolute beast. Not to mention he led my fantasy team to a championship. Rumor has it he may be returning home with Brees.... watch out. This dynamic duo will be unreal if they are reunited. You can bet your ass ill be drafting Jimmy if he is back in NO. Nonetheless I think he can produce wherever he goes but will explode in the city that got their hearts broken this year.... :).

4. RB Carlos Hyde

Ah, Carlos. You've fucked me over so many times in fantasy football. How I adore you. The thing about Hyde is he is consistent from year to year. Notice how I said year to year not game to game as he will fumble twice and rush for 30 yards in one game. But nonetheless he is a consistent back who will rush for 1000 yards and get you 6-8 touchdowns. Now, he was on the shit sipper 49ers so maybe if he was on a better team he would do better. I do feel bad for Carlos, just as he is about to leave the 49ers are going to take the league by storm with Jimmy G and the boys. Hyde might be going to Detroit, Indy or maybe Seattle. Carlos Hyde might be the Frank Gore of our generation, he will be around forever. Damnit.

3. QB Case Keenum

The Magic Man. The Minneapolis Miracle. Yes, I was there so naturally I have a soft spot in my heart for Case. He brought me to tears as much as I hate to say it. Case made 2017 a fun one and for that we have to thank him. We needed someone to rep the number 7 after Ponder used it. What a shitty draft pick. Anyways, Case threw for 22 touchdowns and 3500 yards this season. Impressive numbers. As much as id love him to stay in Minnesota, it scares me. Yeah, he had one good year. But has he proven himself? Maybe he will end up like Peyton Hillis did. Breakout year and then he sucks the year after. But I wish you the best Case. Maybe you stay in MN and id be happy with that. But if you leave thats okay too. I hate to see you go, but I love to watch you leave. If Case doesn't re-sign with the Vikings, rumors have been picking up of the Broncos gaining interest in him.

2. WR Allen Robinson

The Jags didn't use their franchise tag on the 24 year old WR out of Penn State and I don't get it. He caught one ball this season before he tore his ACL. Sure, he got injured and is never a guarantee after an injury. I get it. But you need good receivers for Blake Bortles to throw to, I don't think he has it in him. He doesn't have the Rodgers/Brady gene where they could throw to Grandma Barry and still throw for 4,000 yards. Robinson is a game changer, and at 6'3, he is a freak of nature. He had a career year in 2015 for 1400 yards and 14 touchdowns. Unreal. The guy is a beast and id love him on my team, but apparently the Jags don't think he's worth it. Robinson could land in Baltimore, Jacksonville or maybe even with Da Bears.

1. QB Kirk MF Cousins

Im not a fan of the name "kirk". Kinda bothers me. But I don't care! The guy is a good QB looking to make a big impact on whatever team will pay him. It started out with 8 teams in the hunt, shrunk down to four and now to two. It comes down to the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Jets. The Jets are gonna give him a max dollar contract and he will be wiping with 100's for the rest of his life. The Vikings are ready to offer 3 years for 91 million. Kirk, lets think about this. Go to a shitty team, maybe do decent but get a fuck ton of money. Or you can go to a Super Bowl ready team and maybe win a championship. What would be best Kirk? I think you know, and I think everyone else knows what you're gonna do. Soon we shall see you in the Purple and Gold, hopefully holding a Lombardi over your head. See you soon Kirk.

TOP 5 DEFENSIVE NFL FREE AGENTS

https://www.theringer.com/2016/12/27/16044848/dontari-poe-chiefs-broncos-passing-touchdown-trick-play-2cdf08791877
TOP 5 DEFENSIVE NFL FREE AGENTS

This NFL Offseason should be a hot one. There are a lot of free agents both offensively and defensively, but today we will look at the top 5 NFL free agents. This was a tough list to make. To narrow it down to 5 players is tough, there are so many to choose from and each have different playing abilities and attributes they add to a team. Demarcus Lawrence would be at the top of my list, but it sounds like the Cowboys are going to Franchise tag him if they can't come to a contract agreement before the deadline on March 6th. With Lawrence being out of the picture, this list was tougher to construct but i'll give it a shot starting with number 5.

Number 5: Dontari Poe

There is a lot I could say about this guy. The first thing is WOW. First off, he is 6 foot 3, 346 pounds. He is massive. I wouldn't want to go to Pizza Ranch with that guy, cripes. The guy is a gunslinger. He has 1 career passing touchdown. Poe even has 2 rushing touchdowns. I wouldn't wanna line up against this guy and try to take him down. His William Perry size, speed and agility is what I look for in a d-lineman. What an athlete. For a guy that weights 350 he can sure move and is a force on the Defensive line. The Memphis boy corralled 2.5 sacks and 39 tackles this past season for the choking Atlanta Falcons. Catch the ball Julio. There are a multitude of teams that could use his talents like the Falcons, Packers and Chiefs. We will see in the coming weeks where he ends up.

Number 4: Malcom Butler

Why Pete Carroll? Why didn't you run the ball? Malcom Butler is a good CB don't get me wrong but I think he is hyped up from his interception in the Super Bowl. Butler had 60 tackles and 2 INT this season but didn't play in the Super Bowl. What happened? Butler is a play maker and obviously is proven to be clutch in big game situations. It seemed like everyone liked Butler even former defensive coordinator Matt Petricia. Butler will be pursued by the New York Jets and will most likely seek a lot of money but with how his season ended previously I don't quite certainly know if he deserves it all.

Number 3: Trumaine Johnson

The 28 year old CB from the LA Rams is going to be a free agent this offseason. Johnson will search the market, but the Rams still want to re-sign him for the right price. Johnson had 65 tackles and 2 INT's this season. If Johnson were to re-sign with the Rams, their secondary would be unreal with the recent addition of Marcus Peters but like I said, for the right price. The Rams are coming off of a disappointing loss last season versus the Falcons and they're going to need to gear up for the season up ahead.

Number 2: Lamarcus Joyner

If I had any say for any football team, this guy would be at the top of my list. 2017 was a career year for him with 3 INT's and 49 combined tackles. While his stats might not show his abilities, he is a hell of a player. The Rams have a lot of decisions to make with Sammy Watkins a free agent and having to fit Joyner and Trumaine Johnson under the salary cap. Joyner is a phenomenal all around DB, he can play cornerback or even safety if needed. Although he is 5 foot 8, he packs a punch and adds to a defenses value exponentially. I don't know if Sean Mcvay can pull this one off but either way he comes home to a hot wife.

Number 1: Sheldon Richardson

Cripes. I would not wanna go against this guy. Richardson is a freak of nature. He is a phenomenal athlete. Although he only has 2.5 sacks in his last 30 games, Richardson makes up for it in other aspects of his game. The big fella even had an interception last year. Somebody put this guy on the hands team. Sure, he doesn't have the best stats in the world. But would you want to try and block this guy? Hell no. Ill watch you do it. He is an absolute force up front and makes linemen look silly. The only downside about this guy is he is an asshole in the locker room. But hey, he can do what he wants.

No matter how this offseason progresses, I anticipate it to be a good one. The combine is this weekend. The NFL is back. Thank god.

Cheers,

Burn

Where will Kirk Cousins land?

Where will Kirk Cousins land?

Jets? Vikings? Jags? Broncos? Browns? Cardinals? Bills? Where will the gun-slinger land? Would Kirk ever consider going to the Browns? It is a death wish no doubt. Career ender. But as Captain Kirk said,"A little suffering is good for the soul". Either way you look at it, Kirk could help out any team and give them a shot at the playoffs maybe even the Super Bowl. The Jets can make Cousins the highest player in the league, more than Matthew Stafford's $51 million. But it wouldn't make sense because the Jets were 25th in total offense even worse than the Redskins defense this season. The Jets haven't been relevant since the Mark Sanchez butt-fumble era... now they are ass. The Browns can also give Kirky a shit ton of money, but its the Browns. Maybe he can finally take them to the Super Bowl... (get it?). Kirk could land in Buffalo or Arizona but with their financial standings it doesn't make much sense for Kirk to go there. According to our own Eb, the only way Kirk goes to Buffalo is if he is allowed to warm up in the parking lot with Bills Mafia before every home game. What could be better than getting loaded, breaking tables and slamming hot dogs? Absolutely nothing. It seems to me that the two best options for Kirk are Minnesota and Jacksonville. If Kirk is smart, he will go to either the Jags or the Vikings, both Super Bowl ready teams. Sure, the other teams might have a chance at the playoffs with Kirk at the helm and they will give him a shit ton more money. But if I'm Kirk, I want to win. Sure, money is great. We all wanna wipe our ass with $100 bills, but cmon buddy. Take the pay cut and join a Super Bowl contender. The Jags and Vikings both have top 5 defenses in the league not to mention they were each one game away from the Super Bowl. Kirk its decision time, I'm starting to get anxious. You like that?

Cheers,

Burn

FedEx Cup Update w/ Eb

Fedex Cup

The PGA Tour's FedEx Cup season is off to an ecstatic start.  As the west coast run of tourneys is nearing its end, we have seen some amazing golf so far.  To start off, all I can say is Tiger. Is. Back.  Whether you like him or not, it’s great for the game overall to have El Tigre back on the course tearing and swearing it up.  We’ve seen a couple of rising stars in the game with Patton Kizzire and Patrick Cantlay turning heads so far, with Kizzire winning two tournaments and Cantlay one.  Kizzire is currently sitting on top of the Cup standings with 1247 points, while Dustin Johnson is a ways behind in second with 952 points.  We saw an exciting finish at the Farmers Insurance Open when the former world #1, Jason Day outlasted the surging Swede, Alex Noren in playoff holes to get his first win in what seems like ages.  Recently, Bubba Watson came back from the golf graveyard and somehow managed to not choke away a win at the Genesis Open.  I found myself wondering if I would ever say these words again but, I think that Bubs is back and going to make some more noise this season.  Don’t forget the ol' lefty vet Phil Mickelson still has some gas left in the tank and the youngsters like Jordan, Justin and Rickie are just getting warmed up.  Should be a fun one this season, and we look forward to more “in-the-hole’s” and “mashed potatoes” as we charge onward!

Cheers,

Hot Takes on a Cold Tuesday

NFL Free Agency

This year, free agency is going to be good. There are finally a multitude of good quarterbacks on the block. I have a couple of hot takes for this this offseason. Yes this blog will be biased, but I don't care.

AJ McCarron

Well, I don't know why this guy is in the discussion with teams anymore. Especially since there is talk of teams giving him a Mike Glennon sort of bullshit contract. McCarron has played in 10 games over the course of his 3 years with a very very awful QBR. He looked like Uncle Rico finally playing in the NFL out there. There are talks of McCarron going to my Minnesota Vikings along with Minnesota favorite Teddy Bridgewater and letting them battle it out. Now folks, this would be the absolute worst scenario a die hard fan like me could wish for. If this were to happen, I would hop on nflshop.com (not sponsored, yet) and buy myself a brand new Kareem Hunt jersey and start doing the tomahawk chop. AJ, I think you should stick to making "Cheetos Sushi Rolls" at your sushi restaurant in Tuscaloosa. Hot Take: McCarron signs some big contract, starts 7 games then gets benched.

Minnesota Vikings Free Agency

This off season will change the course of Vikings football for the next 5 years and it scares me. As of late, Spielman and the boys have been making good decisions regarding personnel. Most of the free agents on the team right now are older guys like Terrance Newman and Joe Berger, but they played a big role in our offense and defense this past season. Those guys in my opinion should be resigned, both add depth to important positions. The main debocale this off season is the QB situation. Should we resign Keenum? Bradford? Bridgewater? I think Bradford and his shitty knees are gone. That guys lives the life. Plays a couple games, gets hurt, doesn't play, but gets a shit ton of money. Good for you, Sam. Add that name to the long list of Browns QB's. I don't get why everyone in this state wants Teddy to be our guy. Frankly, his below average arm can't do it. He isn't a slinger. I would be fine with Teddy being back up this season but by no means a starting QB. Here we go, down to two. One guy performed the Minneapolis Miracle, has a bunch of heart and has my heart. The other guy is the new kid in town. The one everyone looks at and goes "holy shit he can play". Case Keenum and Kirk Cousins. To start, Case plays with so much heart. If I'm correct, Case went to Magician school before his time in Houston. He looked like my favorite high school QB Jacob Gauthier out there. Keenum didn't have the biggest arm but he was accurate and could run when he needed. I love Case but the new kid on the block is a slinger. Kirk Cousins.... man I love that guy. Cousins threw for 4k yards and 27 touchdowns this past season. The guy has a rifle. He didn't have any offensive weapons in Washington and he still had a good season. Not to mention he didnt have a defense. If he were to come to Minnesota, the Vikings would be Super Bowl Champs, I believe that. Not to mention that it isn't possible with Case, I just think Cousins is the answer to our problems. Alright Ziggy, hop in the money truck and back it up to Kirks house, were gonna need this guy. Now, to my hot take. The Minnesota Vikings sign Kirk Cousins, Go 14-2 and win the Super Bowl.

Rapid Fire Hot Takes of the Week

Malcom Butler signs with Vikings

Jimmy G leads the 49ers to 10-6, make the playoffs

Green Bay goes 8-8

Patriots don't make the Playoffs

JD Martinez to Red Sox, Twins add to pitching staff

JD Martinez to Red Sox

The Red Sox have finally reached a deal with former Diamondback Slugger JD Martinez. The Deal was worth $110 Million dollars over 5 years, eligible to opt out after the first 2 years. Martinez finished 2017 with an MLB 3rd best 45 HR, is a great addition for the Red Sox. There gonna need him to beat the rival New York Yankees after their addition of Giancarlo Stanton. Its gonna be a slug fest between both teams.

Twins add to staff

The Minnesota Twins have recently added to their awful pitching staff by acquiring Anibal Sanchez and Jake Odorizzi. In 2017 the Twins finished 19th with a team 4.59 ERA. As bad as that is, I look for the twins to be on the rise this season with their upgraded pitching staff and powerful batting order.

First Blog, Feb 19

Here we are, my first blog. This is my first chance to make my way into the sports world once and for all. To start this off, ill tell you a bit about myself. I am a 18 year old college student from Minnesota and love my sports. My entire Twitter and Instagram feed is full of different sporting accounts from across the web filling my brain with sports news. My favorite however is Barstool Sports. That company in its entirety has made me look differently at the way that I view sports. They are my inspiration for starting a blog of my own to see where it ends up. So with that, here is the first of many.

NBA ALL STAR WEEKEND RECAP

The weekend started off with a bang with the Celebrity All Star game, with stars such as Justin Bieber, Quavo and Kevin Hart. Team Clippers beat team Lakers 77-66, with Quavo being the MVP. The Allstar game is good fun, but has no meaning what so ever. The night continued with the Rising stars game, with Team World vs Team USA! USA! USA! But of course, Team USA got its ass kicked by team world, 155-124 lead by MVP of the game Bogdan Bogdanovic. First off, why the hell does this guy have the same name twice, secondly I feel bad for this guy. He plays on the shit terrible Sacramento Kings, poor kid. He will forever be in the pit of misery until he can scratch his way out of there. But until then, Bogdan is the Serbian King. Saturday night is when the shit hit the fan. Don't get me wrong, I love all star breaks as much as the next guy, but this weekend was absolute shit. We had Joel Embiid cheating in the Skills comp, nobody could hit a 3pt shot other than Klay and Booker, not to mention the dunk contest sucked. Devin Booker made a new 3pt contest record knocking 28 points. He lit up the show. Now to the dunk contest and ill tell you what, it sucked. First off, there were only 4 players that were in the dunk contest. If I remember correctly, there used to be 8 dunkers in the contest, people would bring out cars, superman capes and even cupcakes to blow out. Now all people do is put on their dads jersey, so some shitty dunk, and it gets 10's. It was awful to watch. DJ Khaled was being a stickler all night giving out 7's and 8's, while it felt like Wahlberg was tossing out 10's like Floyd in the club. Speaking of which, Floyd if you can read this, get in a UFC ring with McGregor. Donovan Mitchell from the Jazz won the dunk contest and I was very impressed with him. He has taken the league by storm as of late and I have been impressed with his play. Finally, the All Star Game. Some of the best athletes in the world on one court, not playing defense and chucking up 3's. Overall it was a close game throughout the night and I was quite surprised to see the players actually playing more defense than usual in the ASG. Team Lebron beat Team Steph 148-145 with The King winning MVP. I will say that the NBA is not my favorite professional sport, but overall it was a good weekend.
